This notice explains how Tempopoint collects and uses your personal data. Take a moment to read through it so you understand our practices. Under the Data Protection Act and GDPR, personal data means anything that identifies you. When you use Tempopoint (the 'Platform'), you're agreeing to the practices outlined here, including how we process your personal data under the relevant laws. We follow guidelines set out by the UK Information Commissioner's Office about being transparent and giving you control over your information.

Who We Are

Tempopoint is registered with the Information Commissioners Office under number ZA388035. For Data Protection Act and GDPR purposes, we're the Data Controller. Got questions about how we use your data or anything in this Privacy Notice? Email us at info@tempopoint.site.

What we do with your information

We use your information to: Send seasonal updates, ranked leaderboard alerts, and new track announcements; Make the Platform, ranking algorithm, and overall gameplay better; and Send service messages by email or in-app notification. We also compile anonymized gameplay stats—hit accuracy trends, difficulty tier distribution, seasonal performance metrics—to understand how people play and guide what we build next. This data has no identifying information in it. If you were using the platform before this notice, we'll contact you based on legitimate interest.

Information we collect from you

We collect and process: Information you provide – anything you submit through Platform forms or email. We ask for the bare minimum needed to use the service. Newsletter Subscription – just your email address so we can send seasonal alerts and track updates. Contact Form – your name, email, and message. We keep these to respond to you and maintain records in our database. Bug Reports – when you submit crash reports or feedback, we get system data like device type, the BPM tempo where things broke, difficulty mode, and hardware info. You can include screenshots but should blur out any personal details first. Gameplay Telemetry – from ranked play, we see your platform type, region, and aggregated accuracy percentages tied to your account. We never share this with third parties. For cross-platform games, we might ask for your user ID, username, and platform-specific friend lists to enable multiplayer ranking features.

Information we collect about you

During gameplay we get: Device and platform details; and/or your geographic region. This comes from your gaming platform and doesn't identify you as an individual. When you visit the Platform we automatically collect: Technical information – your IP address, browser type and version, time zone, operating system, device specs, and crash report data including hardware and software version numbers; Activity information – which URLs you visited, how you navigated around, page response times, download errors, how long you spent on each section, and interaction data like clicks and scrolling. Data from other sources – if you use other services we operate, we might combine that data with your Platform activity if we told you about it before. We work with third parties including analytics providers, payment processors, and ad networks. When we get data from external sources, we'll let you know and explain what we plan to do with it.

Where we hold and what we do with your information

Your gameplay data usually comes through your gaming platform and gets stored on UK-based servers or distributed EU infrastructure for backup purposes. We aggregate your data with other players' performance on the same tracks and difficulty tiers in your region. This helps us measure engagement and plan our roadmap and seasonal content. Platform content is spread out geographically to make things load faster. We don't share individual user data with external parties for marketing. OVH hosts our Platform. MailChimp powers our emails—check their privacy policies to see how they handle your data. If we sell, transfer, or merge parts of our business, the new owners can use your personal data as described in this notice.

Interaction with Social Networks and Platforms

Tempopoint lets you connect with third-party social networks or platforms, and they share information with us. These services are run by external parties we don't control. Check their terms and privacy policies to understand how they handle your data. When you turn on social integration, we might share data about you with your contacts (and vice versa) to enable social gameplay features. This Social Data includes your username, profile picture, and ranked scores. You can change what data third-party platforms share with us or turn off social features entirely in that platform's settings. Just know you might lose access to multiplayer or friend-based leaderboard features if you do.
